Luciano Lombardi composer, orchestrator, arranger and pianist. Produces music for short and feature films, soundtracks, music for multimedia applications, sound design, animation and music therapy projects, meditation and ambiance music, video games, commercials and radio jingles. His works are available worldwide on all digital stores.
Italian author, composer and arranger. He writes instrumental pieces and songs for various performers and is the author of soundtracks, audiovisual and multimedia products, musical comments and soundtracks for cinema, theatre, TV and radio.
Has participated with merit in film music courses. Some of his texts have been published on specialized channels or reviewed by well-known critics from the world of entertainment, in magazines with national circulation.
He currently lives and works in Toronto (Canada) where he has collaborated with the Columbus Centre Cinema Laboratory writing soundtracks. He has performed his pieces on the piano during several evenings of the Toronto Film Festival in the presence of important personalities from the international film industry, receiving the approval and esteem of the Consul General of Italy in Canada.
Among the best-known pieces is Tema per Ennio, a piece for solo piano dedicated to Maestro Ennio Morricone, appreciated by the Maestro himself and used for the creation of a documentary presented at the Italian Cultural Institute.
He works as an arranger for a gospel vocal group and creates jingles for commercials broadcast on the internet, radio and television. Luciano writes music for relaxation and makes arrangements for strings and directs their performance in the recording studio.
In 2012 he produced Awakening, a CD of instrumental music for meditation and relaxation, with settings and sounds inspired by nature, available for sale at major online stores.
Since 2013 he has intensified his activity as a composer for short films and films. 2013: he produced Improvviso Natalizio, an album of original Christmas arrangements and themes, then published in 2014.
In the same year he wrote the soundtrack for the film "Con tutto l’amore che ho", directed by Angelo Antonucci.
He ranked second (out of over 300 participants from all over the world) at The Paris Sync Summit Competition 2014, creating the soundtrack and sound design for the trailer of the film Noah. This result is also mentioned in a page of the SOCAN bulletin, in the summer of 2014.
2015: he publishes the CD Euro Sound Vol. 1, a collection of instrumental pieces classifiable as world music. He collaborates with the ICFF (Italian Contemporary Film Festival) in Toronto by writing the official jingle and produces several instrumental pieces used during the passage of advertising promos. In the same year he creates the soundtrack for the short film Christmas Is Believing, official selection at the International Toronto Short Film Festival, at the Chicago International Reel Short Festival, at the Queen City Film Festival.
2016: in conjunction with the release of the film in Italy, he produces the soundtrack CD Con tutto l'amore che ho, available at the main online stores. In the same year he obtains the Professional Composing and Orchestrating for Film and TV certificate at the Berklee College of Music (online).
2017: obtained, again at the Berklee College of Music, the Master in Composition and Orchestration of Music for Film and TV, whose curriculum also includes Jazz composition, World Music, interactive music techniques and for videogames.
2018: continued the production of soundtracks for short films and created a series of piano arrangements of film themes by Ennio Morricone on the occasion of the maestro's ninetieth birthday.
2019: in parallel with the composition of music for short films, worked on the publication of the second volume of instrumental pieces, Euro Sound. On the occasion of a meeting with Nicola Piovani, in Toronto, created a collage of music by the Maestro, dedicated to him.
2020: published Short Film Soundtracks and Music for Film, available on all digital platforms.
2021: created several arrangements for quintet (flute, oboe, soprano, piano and cello) based on film music by Ennio Morricone. In 2022 he recorded the orchestral suite "Once upon a time in Italy" with the Bulgarian National Radio Sympony Orchestra. In the same year and in 2023 he published new instrumental albums, including "Shapes", "Puzzle", "Around the world", "Vintage Tour", "Christmas Lullaby" and "The Orchestra Collection".
In 2024 he produced the album "Latino", a varied series of instrumental pieces inspired by Latin and Latin-American music.
